Much of this work involves actively engaging with policy makers and the community. Raising awareness to professional bodies of the plight of offenders, their children and families. Arenas are created where professional bodies can think about how they can help improve services and experiences for children and families. Raising awareness also helps to break down barriers. The more we lobby and discuss the issues families have to face, the less likelihood that children and families of offenders will remain to be the forgotten victims of crime.
